Trinity has a select list of summer programs available for Trinity students.
Students interested in other programs for the Summer term are advised to consult with a Study Abroad Advisor.

Here are a few commonly asked questions

Are there scholarships available for summer study abroad?
Yes!  Trinity has grants for Trinity Summer programs and there are outside grants available for students who are approved for a non-Trinity summer program.

How much do I pay for a summer program?
Summer programs are all out of pocket.  Students may use Federal and State aid, but Trinity institutional aid is not available for summer study abroad.  Students will need to pay for their program costs directly to their program provider or to Trinity if on a Trinity Summer Study Abroad program.

Can I fulfill my School of Business Study Abroad/ Language Requirement at the same time?
Yes!  Some students need to complete their entire language requirement for Trinity and for their business major.  Business majors are required to complete a language course at Intermediate II (4 semester) or study abroad for 6 weeks.  However, if you do not have any language completed, then you can go abroad for 6 weeks in the summer to take "Super Intensive Spanish" in Costa Rica, which would fulfill both requirements for you - the University Foreign Language Requirement and the School of Business Requirement study abroad/language requirement. Plus, you will earn 8 to 12 credits during the summer term.  For more information, please contact a Study Abroad Advisor.

When is the best time to study abroad?
This will depend on many factors.  Typically, it is best for you to study abroad in the summer in your Sophomore or Junior Summer.  The summer before your Senior year should be reserved for research with a Trinity Faculty member or to do a domestic or international internship.

Can I study abroad on a non-approved program?
Students who elect to study abroad on a short-term program that is not approved by Trinity University may petition to transfer any academic credits in accordance with the transfer credit policy. If granted, upon your return you may petition to transfer appropriate credit to Trinity. Please see the Assistant Director for Study Abroad for details. Students who participate in a non-approved program may not use institutional financial aid to meet program costs.
